About this tour
Join your guide for a walk through the historic center of Split. Learn about the city's 2000-year history as you stroll through the Old Town.
We are local guides and friends who love everything about Split: the sea, wine, coffee, and all the little things that make life here beautiful.
Meereen, the place where Daenerys spent three seasons, where scenes of the fight between slaves and masters (the "kill the masters" scene) were filmed, battles of Grey Worm and the Unsullied against the Sons of the Harpy, the death of Ser Barristan Selmy who saved Grey Worm, the dragons that Daenerys chained and later fed to the evil masters.
Visit Diocletian's Palace and immerse yourself in its grandeur. Pass by the Golden Gate, the Peristyle of Diocletian's Palace, the Vestibulum of Diocletian's Palace, and the Temple of Jupiter. Explore the substructures of the palace.
Hear stories about the city's history and see where scenes from the popular TV series Game of Thrones were filmed. Visit the spot where Daenerys fought the Great Masters of Mereen.

Game of Thrones filming locations in Split
Nearly every Meereen scene in seasons 4 and 5 was shot inside Diocletian's Palace. These are the exact spots we visit on the tour, in order, with the scenes played on a tablet so you see the location and the episode side by side.
1. Palace Basement — West Chambers
Season 4, Episode 10The dragon dungeon. This is where Daenerys chains Viserion and Rhaegal after they burn a child in Yunkai. Her walk away from her own dragons is filmed in this exact corridor.
2. Palace Basement — East Chambers
Season 5, Episode 4The ambush corridor. Grey Worm and Ser Barristan Selmy face the Sons of the Harpy here. Barristan dies protecting Grey Worm — one of the quieter deaths in the series.
3. Papalićeva Street & surrounding alleys
Season 5The back streets of Meereen. 'Kill the Masters' graffiti, the slave revolt ambushes, and the Unsullied arrests were filmed on these medieval lanes inside the Palace walls.
4. Vestibule of Diocletian's Palace
Seasons 4–5The open-topped round chamber. Used as a transition shot for Daenerys arriving in Meereen, and as the meeting space in several of her council scenes.
5. Peristyle
Seasons 4–5Meereen's public square. Background for Daenerys's walks with her advisors and guards. The cathedral steps appear in several wide shots of the city.
6. Temple of Jupiter & the headless Sphinx
Seasons 4–5The moodier Meereen corners — conspiracies, private conversations, tension. The 3,500-year-old sphinx at the entrance has been guarding the temple since before Rome existed.
